Grenadier miniatures a break from the hard stuff

Well it's been awhile.  A long while, it's the holiday season and things believe it or not have actually started to calm down.  I have finally had a chance to get into my hobby room and do a little painting.  Nothing exciting since there isn't much time but I dug into the massive mountain of lead I have collected over the years and thought it was time to start slapping some paint on the stuff.

First up is a bunch of old Grenadier miniatures stuff.  These figures are from the monster manuscripts series of boxes.  The first one is the Harpy Queen, I went off on coloring her wings and figuring her as a queen I worked some more regal coloring into the feathers. 

The base is one I had laying around the house that I had turned on my mini lathe.  Another hobby for my too little time.

Next up is another of the minis from the box a Naga.  I didn't think too much of this mini until I started to slap some paint on it.  there is a lot of nice character to this kit and when all was said and done it was pleasantly surprising.  Mounted on another scrap base I turned out, my main thrust was to work on the basing elements and develop there.

Third on the list is the Owl bear from the kit and actually this was the first of the three that I worked on and the one that got me back into painting again.  Sorry about the poor quality of the photos they really wash out these kits.  Between the three of them I have really made some good advances in basing technique.  Use a lot of cork and rock from the driveway along with a lot of the dried groundwork that my son sells at local hobby meets.
